NYC Street Art Murals in MasterCard’s Flatiron HQ

Interior Architects commissioned us to create a few NYC Street Art murals in MasterCard’s Flatiron HQ. Photographs of buildings in a chalk style are where two of the piece’s illustrations came from. First, our professional street artist picked specific points of view. Next, we added small, iconic characters to the composition. For example, a couple of characters were playful, like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Elmo. A few characters are specific to NYC, like the Statue of Liberty. Each of these characters adds a bit of color and interest.

The only branded element is a partial reference to the Mastercard logo. Consequently, the rest of the design strays from their familiar yellow and orange palette by request. In addition, the two city illustrations are together on a floor in a multi-purpose area amongst the offices. The larger of the two is an image of the Flatiron neighborhood the Mastercard HQ is in. The second, smaller mural is a view out of a window above a midtown roof, complete with the window ledge and a flower pot.

A third office mural is separate in location and style—a graffiti piece and some doodles can be found in the bike room in the basement. The spray-painted graffiti letters spell out, “Priceless.” This word has been famously used in several Mastercard campaigns over the years. In addition, we also doodled with paint marker on a few photographs that are adjacent to the “Priceless” graffiti burner. Again, therefore, adding to the NYC Street Art style.

Most importantly, we were honored to be included in a project scope like this one. We also enjoy creating multiple floors of art installations with clients like Interior Architects and Mastercard. Certainly, check out our other street art New York murals for offices here: NYC Graffiti Artists.
