Live Chalk Art during the 2016 Gamestop Expo in Anaheim, CA. We worked with Bethesda Softworks to create a live chalk mural for the game Dishonored 2.
To begin with, creating artwork on the ground is a difficult and labor intensive task. Although it is a niche world for live chalk art and artists, we have experienced and talented artists available for the job. Our capabilities range from flat designs to optical illusions. Rather, all ground artwork needs to have a permit or have written approval from land owner.
Specifically, for this project our artist drew their interpretation for the game Dishonored 2 and in collaboration with the client they designed this scene. Additionally, including their company and game logo into the live chalk art mural.
The design needed to be created in only a few hours, as a result, the design had to be fairly low detail. Regardless, we were able to have fun with the mural and create a dramatic moment for Expo attendees to pose with. Plus, it was entertaining for attendees to watch the artist create in real-time. Hopefully, it inspires others to get creative with chalk at home as well. Followed by some time with Bethesda games.
The artist helped create live chalk art as a temporary mural. Typically chalk art is meant for short-lived events. Considering the medium, it cannot withstand much foot traffic or weather condition like rain. There are options to create ground murals with canvas and paint and brush for a longer lasting option.
