Hand Painted Mural on Raw Brick – Mod Pizza in El Cerrito, CA

Last year, we worked on another hand painted mural for Mod Pizza in El Cerrito, CA. This particular piece was a bit of a challenge, because it features concentric circles on raw brick. Additionally, there is another abstract design within the circles themselves. Mistakes made on this piece would be permanent, thus the stakes were high. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any clean up/cut back opportunities on raw brick.

Through the use of a method known as the pounce pattern, our Bay area sign painter got the job done. Michelangelo used this method during the Renaissance, but it is more commonly used today than you might think. Have you seen graffiti artists using stencils before? The pounce pattern is a historical version of that same practice!

Thankfully, we were able to pull this off with the expertise of our local Bay Area mural artists! Check out some of the details of the piece in the photos below. We are very happy with how this hand painted mural turned out. After all, this is example of restaurant sign painting that can’t be beat!

If you need any of your sign painting needs fulfilled, and you are present in the Bay Area, contact us! Our information is available near the bottom of the page.
