Community Mural for Kids. Graffiti USA teamed up with a local Harlem precinct (25th Precint) on a collaborative mural project. We worked with the neighborhood kids. There was plenty of space and good ventilation, since the event was in a parking lot. To start, we created an outline reading: “Welcome to the 25th Precinct”. The style was classic, large letter postcard style. Then, we taped off the outline to prepare for the interactive event. During the community event, kids (and even adults) joined in to color, using house paints and painting freestyle. They were having a good time filling in the mural. When finished, we pull tape off the outline. As a result, this reveals a finished, more polished piece. Voila! Check out some photos of the Community Mural for Kids event below:

In the action shot above you can see the coverage being removed and how it finishes the mural lines crisply. Brainstorming about different ways we can have reveals like this creates new ways for us to interact with our clients.
