Vintage Mural Artwork. This was a recent unique installation that we created for the Vigoss showroom in NYC. Collaborating with The Mufson Partnership, we were tasked to create a series of faux vintage advertisements on raw brick. We were very happy with the results and the aged look we were able to recreate. Special thanks to Vanzee Sign Co. who helped us out with this installation! Check out some photos of the installation below:
References for the vintage mural artwork are all over the city, on the sides of buildings. Creating a patina that normally can take decades of wear was a challenge we enjoyed.
The denim and the walls are both not what they seem in the picture above.
The colors of the Bigelow panel to the left of the opening lent themselves particularly well to the medium.
Industrial touches like the steel racks reinforce the overall design. I love the American font, that A is great. What is that, butter ?
Another shot of the Bigelow panel. The exposed New York brick is a perfect canvas for the application.
The Coca-Cola branding lends itself to signage from another time.
