“In it Together” Community Mural for Queens Place

Community Mural. Queens Place Mall is located in Elmhurst Queens NY. Just blocks from Elmhurst Hospital. While the COVID pandemic reached the states this neighborhood was the one hit hardest. The hospital quickly became the epicenter of the pandemic. In spite of all the challenges faced, NY’ers did what they do best during tough times. They came together as a community. But none risked more than the first responders.

As a token of appreciation to first responders and the community as a whole, we were commissioned by Cushman Wakefield. Tasked to paint a community mural . We had the perfect artist in mind to execute the mural. In particular it was important to work with a local artist. As well as someone who understood how to convey a powerful message through art. We partnered with longtime Queens artist Stae2. He developed a multi layered design for the community mural. Combining a punchy color scheme with multiple design and typography treatments. The message read “In it Together”.  The various colors and layers depicting the cultural diversity in Queens. While each piece is nice looking individually, it’s not until they come together that it’s one beautiful piece. Additionally, you can check out more thoughts on the artist on his  QNS.com interview.
