We can customize almost anything.

We’ve painted crocodile skin handbags for department stores, vinyl records for music launches, and custom Jordans for influencer events. The key is using white or lighter-colored products so paint appears opaque and vibrant.

How Live Customization Works

Our artists paint freehand using airbrush or paint markers depending on the surface and event environment. Each piece takes 5-15 minutes depending on complexity.

The setup:

We provide easels, protective coverings, sample pieces, and all painting supplies. You provide the products to be customized and a dedicated space with good lighting. If you want guests to pre-order designs, we recommend having someone manage the queue so artists focus on painting.

The experience:

Guests select their item, choose their design (or request custom lettering), and watch the artist work. This creates natural gathering points at events and extends dwell time at activations. People photograph the process and share finished products on social, amplifying your campaign organically.

Pricing Structure

We charge artist day rates for live customization events. Once an artist commits to your activation, they’re unavailable for other bookings that day, so we don’t offer hourly rates.

Day rate includes:

  • Artist paint and supply costs
  • Sample customized piece for display prior to event
  • Easel when applicable (for shirts, tote bags, etc.)
  • Professional artist who engages with attendees

You provide:

  • Products to be customized
  • Event space with adequate lighting
  • Tables and setup area

Events in New York are subject to sales tax.

Do You Provide The Products To Be Customized?

No. You provide the products (hats, totes, shirts, etc.). We provide all painting supplies, easels, protective coverings, and artist expertise. We’re happy to recommend product suppliers if you need sourcing guidance.

What If Guests Want Custom Designs Instead Of Pre-selected Options?

Freestyle customization works well for smaller events (under 50 guests). For larger activations, we recommend providing 3-5 design options to keep lines moving. Our artists can still personalize within those frameworks with custom names, colors, or small variations.

Can You Match Specific Brand Colors?

Yes. Provide Pantone numbers or physical color samples, and we’ll match your brand palette. We recommend testing on sample products before the event to ensure color accuracy.

What Surfaces Work Best For Customization?

Canvas, cotton, denim, leather, wood, and vinyl all take paint well. We use different techniques (airbrush vs. paint markers) depending on surface texture. Smooth, light-colored surfaces produce the most vibrant results.

Do You Offer Customization For Virtual Events?

We can customize items in advance and ship them to attendees for unboxing during virtual events. We can also set up live customization at a central location and stream the process during your virtual activation.

How Far in Advance Should We Book?

We recommend booking 4-6 weeks in advance for most events. We can accommodate shorter timelines depending on artist availability and product sourcing requirements.

What Happens If More Guests Show Up Than Expected?

We plan customization pacing based on your expected attendance. If turnout exceeds projections, guests may experience longer wait times. For high-profile events, we recommend booking multiple artists to handle volume surges.

Can Artists Travel For Out-of-state Events?

Yes. We coordinate artists nationwide and can travel to your event location. Travel fees apply for events outside our primary markets.
