Xylem: Innovating Water Solutions Through Live Art

Xylem, a global leader in water solutions and technology, has always driven innovation. Originally a pump manufacturer, Xylem’s name comes from the plant tissue that transports and purifies water. Consequently, this legacy of transformation and sustainability inspired a live art event at their Global Leader’s Event in Washington, DC. The event not only celebrated Xylem’s evolved brand identity but also engaged executives in a meaningful way.

A Two-Day Live Art Experience in Washington, DC

The event took place at two iconic locations in Washington, DC:

  • Day 1: The Reservoir, Xylem’s new headquarters at 301 Water Street SE.
  • Day 2: The Intercontinental Wharf Hotel at 801 Wharf Street SW.

On June 24, executives gathered at The Reservoir to start the celebration. The next day, the live art event continued at the Intercontinental Wharf Hotel, running throughout Xylem’s prestigious gathering of global leaders. As a result, attendees experienced an engaging and dynamic artistic journey.

Making Their Mark: A Collective Artistic Expression

With the theme “Make Your Mark,” all 170 executives participated in the interactive experience. Each attendee pressed their thumbprint onto a large-scale Xylem “stem” design, symbolizing collective impact and unity. Meanwhile, as the night progressed, graffiti artists transformed blank canvases into vibrant, expressive artworks, incorporating the executives’ thumbprints.

This blend of interaction and live artistry created a unique masterpiece. Furthermore, it reflected Xylem’s commitment to innovation and the individuality of its leadership team. The finished canvases were later displayed at the Intercontinental Wharf Hotel, serving as a visual representation of collaboration.

A Socially Engaging, Live Art Showcase

Beyond creativity, the event sparked engagement and conversation. Custom easels displayed live graffiti work, allowing attendees to witness each piece take shape in real time. Moreover, the mix of interactive elements, artistic talent, and a dynamic atmosphere made for a memorable experience. With drinks in hand, executives left their mark on the artwork while deepening their connection to Xylem’s refreshed brand identity.

Art, Identity, and Innovation

By combining live art with interaction, Xylem’s event showed how creativity strengthens corporate identity. In addition, the graffiti art activation embodied Xylem’s core values—innovation, sustainability, and collaboration—while creating an unforgettable experience. Since the finished pieces remained on display throughout the week, they reminded everyone of the energy and creativity that drive Xylem’s mission forward.

Ultimately, this event was more than an artistic performance; it was proof of Xylem’s dedication to making a mark—not just in the water industry, but also in the hearts and minds of its future leaders.
