Charley Harper Spray Paint Interpretation

Residential Art. We had the opportunity to create a spray painted interpretation of a classic Charley Harper piece. The piece is titled “From Tadpole To Frog.” Personally, we are big fans of Harper’s mid-century classic artwork. His harmonious line work is truly special. Thus, it was an honor to be able to replicate one of his pieces in a new medium. This residential art is one of our more eccentric and quirky pieces. It’s not everyday that you get to paint insects and reptiles, like something from childhood. We used geometric shapes and simple strokes. It elegantly blends with its surrounding space around the mural. Looking out the steel window beams, it seems as if the art has always been there. Check out some photos of the Residential Art installation below:

The mural looks so natural next to real-life plants.

As you can see, spray paint looks great on white brick. Furthermore, the imperfections add character to the mural. And, it gives it an organic look, especially for outdoor exterior murals. The subtle changes in texture and material appear to mesh with the action of the figures.
