We had the opportunity to help judge the NFL Mural Contest by MetLife to celebrate the Tri-State workforce. MetLife teamed up with former NFL New York Jet Bart Scott and former New York Giant Victor Cruz allowing all fans and skill levels to submit artwork.
Graffiti Arts served as consultants to MetLife and their partnering agency, SportFive. Acting as judges, we had to determine the best two pieces of artwork. First was the creation of the two murals. Second, was the selection of the winners. Then, using our expertise to modify the designs, we enhanced the winning murals without losing the design’s essence. Finally, we had the unveiling of the NFL Contest Murals, which happened during the pre-season game of the Jets & Giants “MetLife Bowl/Snoopy Bowl.”
Congratulations to the winners, Tiffany Loo and Tricia Reilly-Matthews, and thank you for your hard work! Check out images of their excellent murals and a short video interviewing the artists below!
Tricia Reilly-Matthews created this masterpiece titled “Angel Among Us”. Notice that there is a young girl painting her heroes with vibrant colors from the rainbow to create the gorgeous city skyline background. In addition, she features parts of the workforce such as doctors, mailmen, police officers, and even football players. Combining the everyday heroes in this way convinced us, at Graffiti Arts and MetLife, that Tricia’s mural was one of the best for this year’s NFL Mural Contest!
Tiffany Loo’s all-inclusive mural titled “Tri-State” involves an intricate background that offers a “thank you” in multiple languages. Similarly, she features heroes from the workforce such as delivery men, chefs, doctors, construction workers, etc. Because of Tiffany’s beautiful use of color and unique design, she impressed the judges and won a winning spot in the NFL Mural Contest!
