We have plenty of experience working with music festivals for their festival entrance art. Due to our experience with the folks at GovBallNYC, we were asked to paint the entrance sign for the FarmBorough Country Music Festival on Randall’s Island. This is NYC’s brand new country music festival. Country fans are absolutely thrilled about it!
Like most music festivals, they’re hoping attendees will post about their experience on social media. A great way to guarantee some shares is by creating an ambiance at the festival and adding thoughtful art and design. The client asked us to create the festival entrance art.
Of course, at the entrance is where you want the name of the festival. And this is an easy way for people to let their friends know where they are and what they’re doing across social media. So, the festival entrance art is an important thing to consider.
For the design, we took the original logo, but added our spin to it. We worked through a couple of rounds of revisions with the client in order to have the final approved festival entrance art. The sign was very large – almost 40 feet long. That scale alone is always very exciting for our team!
We used primary colors and bold letters for the design. Then, we incorporated references to country music and iconic images that relate to the genre. Lastly, we tied in elements of NY as of course that’s where the festival took place. We had a lot of fun working on the project and would love to continue to work with music festivals across the country for their festival entrance art.
