Street Art in Lobby. We completely covered a lobby with a custom graffiti street art installation in Harlem, NY. The “Art House” is a modern residential building undergoing a cutting edge renovation. We painted the entire lobby ceiling in a Michelangelo Sistine Chapel style! Application conditions made for an interesting couple of days. We were able to achieve the awkward canvas angles using a brand of paint called Plutonium Paint that sprays 360 degrees. The influence for this piece was a local iconic “Crack Is Wack” handball court piece by Keith Haring. Check out some photos of the installation below:
The finished lobby corridor above, all of the walls and also the ceiling.
Keeping the new finishes in the renovated lobby clean was important. For this reason we covered the floors the walls and also the mailboxes.
Michelangelo in action, prone on the scaffold. We also covered the lights!
Finishing street art in lobby touches near the mailboxes. Yo! The plastic bubble also showing its age.
Once the protection is remove the patterns and colors can be seen in place.
Light reflects off of the sprays on the ceiling.
Graffiti letters worked into the overall patterns.
