Distressed sign painting on interior office walls in Pennsylvania. We painted a few old looking murals in a new commercial building on newly installed brick. The designer brought the mostly finished content to us, and used a reference from our portfolio to show us how vintage it should look when completed. These “ghost signs” are fun to paint and are also a bit more forgiving due to the desired patina. There were three walls for us to work on at the site. On two walls we created a transparent white base and the third wall was pre painted an opaque charcoal color. One white wall and the charcoal wall then received letters that look older than the building itself.
We painted the murals close to King of Prussia in PA. It’s a town with a very interesting name if you look into the history of it. We’ve been to this area in the past for several mall related art activations. Therefore, we are fairly familiar with the location. The vintage texture of this type of activation ties into the historic character of the town.
